Headset 44mm semi-integrated?

Post by Daniel Smith »

Howdy,
I just got a new frame delivered and thought i could use my 'standard' 1-1/8" headset...but, no, there is a new 'standard' - nobody told me!?! #-o

So, apparently I need a new headset ... press-fit, semi-integrated 44mm headset, but still to be used with my 1-1/8" fork ... is there anything else I need to be aware of?

På forhånd tak!
daniel

I have installed one of those once (in a cheap frame) with a mallet and some two-by-fours, but you're probably better off using a real headset press. There may be a difference between the upper and lower cup: don't swap them :-)

Thanks Gunnar - eventhough I have ParkTool's headset press, I felt it was more manly to use 2x4's
Bought the Token Kudoz from Ride4Fun and all is installed and riding fine :)
